Kitchen, laundry and bathroom renovation - Renovation brief:

Ruth and Albie’s family have grown and they are now at bursting point within the current home with the addition of a third child.  It was currently two bedroom home housing five.   Rather than moving house, as this one had already nurtured two of their children into the world, they really wanted to renovate and expand the capacity without increasing the size of its overall footprint.

On the initial renovation consultation it was discussed that the kitchen was too small, the laundry was a separate small room with wasted space leading to it and an entranceway that was tight and unappealing.

It was decided to turn convert the dining room into a third bedroom thereby providing space for the children.  The kitchen, laundry and entranceway were opened up into one large room.   The end result accomplished provided a large family kitchen with a built in laundry (hidden away behind doors).  The dining table is now able to be pushed partly under the cleverly designed bench top to provide extra space when not in use.   The hall was opened up alongside the lounge, fully utilising the wasted space of hall and entranceway, giving the overall impression of space.

One very happy family environment for years to come.

Testimonial

When we finally got council consent to recreate our living space we chose to go with Fix It Building Services, after obtaining quotes from three building firms and meeting with their representatives. Right from the start Rudy gave us confidence that he knew what he was talking about, had the people available to complete the renovations we were after in the required time frame we required, and also that he would also listen to us.
Everyone who worked on site was courteous, considerate to others in the cul de sac, and completed their respective jobs efficiently and to a high standard. Where any aspect of the build was different to what we expected it was quickly rectified. It was a fairly tricky renovation, despite not altering the footprint of the house, with challenges such as having two different ceiling heights to be accommodated around structural support requirements.
The change to the space makes it feel like we have bought a new house and it is now a much more family friendly space to live in. The project was pretty much completed to budget, which is impressive given that we changed our minds about some details as the build was happening. Any queries we had regarding expenses were readily explained, in extensive detail.
The service providers recommended by Rudy provided quality service and products (eg double glazing, joinery, kitchen fit out, painting). The final outcome exceeded our expectations - if we ever have any further projects we will request Rudy and his sons (Carl and Joel) from the outset!
Thank you, and please pass on our thanks to your sons and their teams, we are very pleased with the finished product.
